Dr. Bryan McNutt is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP).
He currently works as an employee assistance psychologist with the University of California San Diego (UCSD), providing psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals and couples, as well as clinical support for management consultations, conflict resolution, and critical incident response.
Dr. McNutt has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including hospice care for terminally ill individuals and their bereaved families, inpatient psychiatric care, partial hospitalization outpatient treatment, residential substance abuse treatment, military installation support for active duty Marine Corps and military families, short-term acute residential psychiatric care, and private practice.
He has also served as Adjunct Faculty for graduate students in counseling and psychology programs since 2015 at the University of Phoenix and Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara. Dr. McNutt is a published author in a peer-reviewed academic journal, which focused on his research exploring the challenges of disenfranchised grief experienced by bereaved lesbian widows and gay widowers due to sexual minority stress factors.
