“Introduction to the International Employee Assistance Digital Archive: A Knowledge Hub”

February 17th, 2022

2 pm - 3:30 pm (PST)

~ PDHs included with Registration ~

This presentation will introduce attendees to the many resources available to them via the

International Employee Assistance Digital Archive (Archive).  Hosted by the creators of the Archive!

In 2013, Drs. Frey and Herlihy collaborated to create this repository to serve a growing need to provide an open-access, global repository that is freely available to anyone in the world who might want to learn about EAP and broader workplace behavioral health issues and best practices.

Live demonstrations will be used in this presentation to show attendees how to access all the Archive’s materials that they can then use for benchmarking, creation of new materials to be used in their EAP, promoting research, including pilot studies and white papers about emerging and innovative EA practices that might be specific to the members of the San Diego EAPA Chapter.

This topic has critical relevance within the areas of employee wellbeing and workplace health today. There are many complex disruptions and stressors that have emerged within the world of work during the COVID pandemic, including the expansion and normalization of remote work, considerations of workplace safety, and reimagining how to support the mental health needs of a diversifying workforce.

There are also rapidly changing trends of substance misuse and the ways in which substance misuse converges with the workplace. This presents new challenges for employee assistance practitioners who are providing assessment and treatment interventions for employees in need.

More than ever, EA professionals need and would benefit from innovative approaches and considerations of this complex situation.
